I wanted to experiment with music and how it could inspire the work. So I put on some Loreena McKennitt, whose work is quite magical and ethereal. . . I then got to work and even though I was a bit skeptical, I realy do feel that her music inspired this piece. . . especially the song Dante’s Prayer, from which I took the title for the piece. . .
“I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the stars”
